Commercial Cutting Equipment was founded in 1995 when 4 friends decided to start an outdoor power equipment company.  Two of those original partners, Tom & Ken Taylor, come from a long history of family-owned businesses in Blount County. As one of the area’s first Exmark dealerships, CCE set the standard for not only offering a wide array of products but also for delivering excellent service. Over the years as the business grew, the original partners were ready to pursue other avenues & a new generation of Taylor family members stepped in.

Whit & Sarah Taylor both grew up in Blount County as part of small, family owned businesses & have fond memories of watching their parents serve the community. They have dreamed of owning their own business since the time their marriage began. So, the couple began searching for the right opportunity to start or purchase a business of their own, one where their 2 young children could take part & be exposed to serving the community just like they were. In 2017, the time seemed right to make the move and Whit & Sarah purchased CCE. In addition to the ownership change, the business needed to relocate due to a major roadway expansion. So, it just seemed fitting that the new home for Commercial Cutting would be in the former TC Drake’s building on E. Broadway Ave. in downtown Maryville. From 1946 - 2004 this building was home to Drake Auto Parts, a previous Taylor family business. The updated location features the historic charm & character of the original structure while offering over 10,000 square feet of sales, parts & service. This expanded location provides more room to showcase lawn and landscape equipment from multiple manufacturers including Exmark, Hustler & Redmax. There is additional space dedicated to 2-cycle equipment & new offerings of landscape tools & accessories. With one of the largest parts rooms in the area, CCE can now carry a wide variety of parts from multiple suppliers. The lower half of the building is dedicated solely to service, so there is more than enough room to work on everything from general maintenance to more advanced repairs, including welding.

Serving the community since 1946, the Taylor family is grateful for the support of the patrons who have chosen to shop local. As the next generation of Taylor business owners, Whit & Sarah are eager to help you find the right equipment to meet your needs, whether you have a fleet of 40 mowers or desire a more pleasant experience while mowing your own yard. The goal is to care for everyone in a way that makes them feel like family. Stop in & meet the Taylors. They’ll be waiting with a cup of coffee, a story to share & a heartfelt desire to provide the best service in the industry today.
